If the first half of the month has left you needing a break, it’s time to unwind. This weekend, there’s something for everyone—whether you’re a hobbyist, a cosplay fan, or a concert lover.
Here’s a roundup of events happening around Metro Manila from Jan. 17 to 18.
Jan. 17: RIIZE's "RIIZING LOUD" concert
Are you ready to see the boys again, Filo BRIIZE? K-pop boy group RIIZE is set to stage their second Manila concert on Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at SM Mall of Asia Arena.
A few seats in the VIP standing and VVIP standing sections are still available via SM Tickets.
RIIZE debuted in September 2023 with the track Get A Guitar. It's composed of members Anton, Eunseok, Shotaro, Sohee, Sungchan, and Wonbin. Their hit songs include Memories, Talk Saxy, and Love 119, among others.
Jan. 17: Red Velvet's Wendy's "W:EALIVE" solo concert
Attention, ReVeluvs! Wendy is finally coming back for her first-ever solo world tour. The "W:EALIVE" concert is set to be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. at New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

Wendy is the main vocalist of the K-pop girl group Red Velvet. She previously visited the Philippines in September 2024 alongside her co-members, Irene, Seulgi, Joy, and Yeri, for their first-ever fan con, Happiness: My Dear ReVe1uv.
She made her solo debut in 2021 with EP Like Water, and released her second mini-album in 2024, dubbed Wish You Hell.
Before officially debuting as a soloist, she had also performed OSTs for K-dramas, including Who Are You: School 2015, D-Day, Uncontrollably Fond, and The Beauty Inside, among others.
Jan. 17: Pottery Caravan in Makati City
If trying a new hobby is one of your goals this year, check out the Pottery Caravan on Jan. 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greyhound Cafe in Ayala Triangle.
The workshop costs P2,800, inclusive of a two-hour session in handbuilding, 750g stoneware clay that can make up to two mugs and figures, other pottery tools, and underglazes for painting, and firing by AMT Ceramics.

Jan. 17: Anime Idol Convention
Marven at the fictional 2D idol, at the first-ever Anime Idol Convention happening on Jan. 17 at Bayanhihan Center, Pasig City.
There will be several booths you can shop at, as well as cosplayers who will participate in a cosplay competition, singing competition, and those who will give special performances.
The event is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On-site tickets are priced at P600 each.
Jan. 17 to 18: Wet Market: Art Market Pop-Up
Explore different kinds of artworks from more than 40 creatives at Wet Market: Art Market happening from Jan. 17 to 18 at third floor, YL Holdings Bldg, Legazpi, Makati City.
If you're done shopping, you can enjoy other souvenirs from the events, such as taking home a piece of live portraits, striking a pose in a 0.5 photobooth, writing a note at the Love Letter Writing Station, making your own flower bouquet, or manifesting your 2026 goals on the Manifestation Wall.
The pop-up is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entrance is free!
Jan. 17 to 18: Pop-Up Art Market
For those coming from the north, there's also an art pop-up happening at Art in Island in Quezon City.
Take home cute stickers, keychains, flowers, 3D-printed keycaps, a piece from a live portrait, and more from local artists. The event is open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
