Applications for the inaugural Reina Filipinas is now open
Aspiring beauty queens can now apply to be part of Reina Filipinas, a brand-new beauty pageant for Filipinos.
To qualify for the Miss Grand International Philippines crown, applicants must be female Filipino citizens between the ages of 18 and 35. Candidates are required to hold a valid Philippine passport and stand at least 5'4" (163 cm) tall.
For the MGI All Stars Philippines crown, the competition is open to both cisgender and transgender Filipino women between 20 and 40 years old who hold a valid Philippine passport and meet the minimum height requirement of 5'4" (163 cm). Additionally, applicants must have previously competed in an international beauty pageant but have not yet won a major international pageant title.
Applicants may fill out the forms here on or before June 30.
Reina Filipinas was officially unveiled in a media conference on Wednesday, June 10, in Pasay City.
Shoe designer Jojo Bragais, whose products have been a staple in local and international pageants, will head the pageant as its president, while Miss Grand International 2025 Emma Tiglao will serve as the national director.
Bragais shared that Reina Filipinas is a project very close to his heart.
"Reina Filipinas is very personal pageant because I've been in the industry for 13 years and along the way... ang dami kong nakilala na amazing [beauty queens]," he said. "Their stories are very much similar sa akin when I was starting. So, we started from scratch. Nung nagsasama sama kami, we talked about dreams, mga walang wala pa kami nun sa buhay nung mga time na yun and ang pageant ang isa sa mga stepping stones namin."
"I want Reina Filipinas to be a pageant, to be a platform na kung saan kaya nilang abutin ang kanilang mga pangarap through their talent, through their beauty. Kaya kung makikita niyo yung logo namin merong star kasi abot-kamay mo ang stars and here you have the chance," he added.
Also joining the leadership team are Show Director Ralph Ryan Rafael, Fashion Director Mak Tumang, Creative Director Rod Singh, and Digital Creative Director Jun Morden. They are accompanied by Behind-the-Scenes Director Bebs Gohetia, Business Development Head Thomas Cipriano, and Sales Director and Operations Head Jhonel Paldas. Rounding out the officers are Chief Finance Officer Ardel Presentacion, Official Event Stylist Tei Endencia, Head of Partnerships and Sponsorships John Santos, Head of Local Franchise Partnerships Arnel Palmera, and Head of Legal Atty. Grego Nuega.
Pageantry personalities were in attendance, which include Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil, Miss Grand International 2024 CJ Opiaza and MGI All Stars 2026 Vanessa Pulgarin, and Top 5 finalist Gazini Ganados.
The pageant will award three crowns in its pageant system, with two titleholders for Reina Filipinas Grand All Stars and one for Reina Filipinas Grand.
