‘American Idol’ contestant Douglas Kiker dies at 32
Douglas Kiker, an alum of the 18th season of American Idol, has died. He was 32.
His sister Angela Evans announced his death in a social media post.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of my brother Douglas Kiker," she said, noting that he “was sooo loved and will be missed by so many.”
His mom Donna Kiker Carrillos-Ramirez, in a Facebook post, mourned his unexpected death. “We lost an amazing person,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “He had the biggest smile and knew how to make you laugh.”
“Douglas Kiker you will forever be missed. Fly high,” she continued.
The cause of his death was not specified.
Douglas joined American Idol Season 18 in 2020 and became known as “The Singing Garbage Man.” During his audition for the competition series, he made judge Katy Perry cry with this captivating performance of Bless The Broken Road.
