Imelda Schweighart to compete for MGI All Stars after departure from MUPh
After weeks of pageant buzz surrounding her status in Miss Universe Philippines 2026, Imelda Schweighart is officially heading in a new direction as she joined the inaugural Miss Grand International All Stars competition.
The Miss Grand International organization officially announced Schweighart as a Philippine delegate for their first-ever competition via social media.
"Imelda Schweighart is a legendary multi-hyphenate and a true icon of her generation. She won her first national crown at just 15 years old. A professionally trained actress since childhood, she rose as a premier leading lady alongside some of the most prominent artists of the 2010s era," the organization wrote in the caption.
They went on to highlight how the beauty queen is a "prolific singer-songwriter, music producer, and visionary entrepreneur."
"Her journey is defined by resilience, individuality, and authenticity. Known for her unapologetic spirit and editorial edge, Imelda brings a lifetime of stage mastery to the global spotlight—reminding the world that icons aren’t born, they are made," they said.
"Beyond the crown, Imelda continues to captivate audiences worldwide through her artistry, influence, and fearless self-expression. A true All-Star — bold, iconic, and impossible to ignore," MGI added.
The news comes after Schweighart was hounded with rumors that she had been removed from the Miss Universe Philippines competition, following the organization’s announcement that one contestant had been dropped.
While they did not specify who the beauty queen was, fans pointed out that Schweighart had been excluded from promotional posts for the pageant.
Miss Universe Philippines has yet to issue a statement on whether Schweighart will still compete for the 2026 edition. However, it should be noted that the beauty queen did not participate in the preliminary evening gown segment that was held on April 5, which is considered a key part of the pageant’s early evaluation process.
WIth this, Schweighart now joins Gazini Ganados, Alexia Núñez, Fuschia Anne Ravena, and Keylyn Trajano as some of the Filipino queens taking part in the MGI All Stars competition that will be held on May 30 in Thailand.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Philippines finals will take place on May 1. Reigning queen Ahtisa Manalo is set to crown her successor.
