LIST: How to donate and send help to Typhoon Tino victims

Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) has killed at least 52 people and displaced thousands as of Nov. 5 morning, as it wreaked havoc through heavy rains and severe flooding, mainly in the Visayas region

Tino entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Nov. 2, intensifying into a Severe Tropical Storm and into a typhoon the next day. 

Early morning of Nov. 4, it made landfall at Silago, Southern Leyte, eventually moving to Borbon, Cebu, and Sagay, Negros Occidental. Life-threatening conditions continue to affect Cebu and Negros Island regions. 

Cebu City alone was deluged by 183 millimeters of rain, 24 hours before Tino's landfall, according to PAGASA. Entire towns in the province were submerged, with vehicles and shipping containers visibly stacked and swept away by floodwaters.

A Cebu network of civic organizations is calling for donations to provide immediate assistance to the affected barangays.

They are looking for hot meals for their community kitchen, trapals or tarpaulins, food supplies, drinking water, clothing, hygiene kits, and medicine. 

The organization is also accepting in-kind donations, which you can drop off at the following offices: Near Cler Suites, Hernan Cortes St., Subangdaku, Mandaue City and 78-E. Gabuya St., Pardo, Cebu City

Tulong Kabataan Sta. Mesa

Tulong Kabataan Sta. Mesa, the student-led volunteer arm of Polytechnic University Main Campus, is calling on students, youth, and concerned citizens to respond.

They are accepting monetary and in-kind donations such as rice, canned goods, and ready-to-eat food, bottled drinking water, hygiene kits (soap, alcohol, sanitary pads, etc.), and baby and adult diapers

The drop-off center is on the 2nd Floor of the Charlie Del Rosario Building in PUP Manila.

University of San Carlos

The University of San Carlos in Cebu has opened its emergency relief drive for victims of Typhoon Tino in the area.

They are accepting in-kind and monetary donations.
