How to own this Larry Alcala EDSA People Power commemorative shirt
Commemorate the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with a special collectible featuring the work of National Artist for Visual Arts Larry Alcala.
On Feb. 25, the country marks the historic 1986 People Power uprising that became a defining moment in Philippine democracy. Keeping that spirit alive can be as personal as what we wear. As tribute, the official estate of Alcala has released a limited-edition T-shirt featuring a reproduction of his iconic EDSA People Power artwork.
The front design features the iconic figure of a boy offering a sampaguita flower to a soldier during the revolt.
At the back is an illustration of the mass gathering along EDSA in 1986, featuring a packed crowd consisting of families, nuns, soldiers, civilians, protesters, as well as military tanks on the sides.
It comes in greyscale, black and white, and full color, and is available in sizes XS to 4XL. Each piece is handprinted by local craftsmen on high-quality, locally made apparel, making every shirt both a tribute and a wearable collectible.
Pre-orders open on Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. and run until March 3 at 11:59 p.m. via the Fundacion Sanso Museum Shop. While pricing will be announced along with the official link at noon, be sure to mark your calendars for this limited-edition drop.
