Bodybuilding influencer Bi Jiaqi dies at 26

Bi Jiaqi, a known bodybuilding influencer in China, has died aged 26.

A close friend of the content creator told media outlet ETToday that Jiaqi died in his sleep after his blood vessel ruptured.

Jiaqi had concerning symptoms before he passed away. According to his friend, he saw Jiaqi playing mahjong, slumped in a chair with lips that appeared purple days prior. Per Cleveland Clinic, lip discoloration occurs "when your blood lacks the oxygen it needs to reach the different tissues in your body."

In January, Jiaqi posted a selfie online and shared in the caption that his head was swollen "like a steamed bun."

Jiaqi became popular in Ningbo's fitness circle as he enjoyed posting fitness-related content on social media, focused on bodybuilding.

He recently moved to his new home and had plans for a housewarming party with friends.
