Kris Lawrence confirms he and Katrina Halili are back together: 'I'm happy'

Kris Lawrence confirmed that he and Katrina Halili are officially back together—more than a decade after they ended their relationship.

The R&B singer shared the update on his Facebook page on Sunday, Sept. 27, posting a photo of him with the actress. "New chapter," he captioned his post.

“I told you I gotchu, and I meant that. No need to rush anything… One Step at a Time, enjoying where this takes us,” he wrote. “All I know is I’m happy… KAMI NA bahala where this new chapter takes us."

Lawrence and Halili began dating in 2008. They were together for five years before they broke up in January 2014. Halili later said she initiated the split because they were no longer growing together and that they both needed to focus on their own goals.

The two started spending more time together again this year. In April, they took a trip to El Nido, Palawan, which Halili later described as a “reset of their friendship.” Around the same time, Lawrence clarified that they had not gotten back together, saying they were simply enjoying each other's company.

By June, Lawrence confirmed that he was officially courting Halili again, saying they were taking their relationship “one step at a time.”

Two months later, Halili addressed public curiosity about their relationship. "May mga bagay na masaya naming sine-share sa inyo, at mayroon ding mga bagay na gusto muna naming sarilinin at hayaan na lang ninyong makita kapag dumating na ang tamang panahon. Hindi naman lahat ng plano [ay] kailangang i-announce," she wrote on her Facebook page.

Lawrence and Halili share a daughter, Katie, whom they welcomed in 2012.
