Bong Revilla surrenders following arrest warrant
Ex-senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Monday night, Jan. 19, following a Sandiganbayan arrest warrant linking him to ghost flood projects.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Philippine National Police said Revilla turned himself in at Camp Crame. He was accompanied by his wife and children.
The former senator shared his reaction to the arrest warrant in a video on Facebook on Monday evening.
"Nakakalungkot po, parang wala yatang due process. Pero ganoon pa man, haharapin ko ito ng walang takot at alam kong 'di ako pababayaan ng Diyos dahil wala po akong kasalanan dito," he said while riding in a vehicle in the clip.
Revilla arrived at the Sandiganbayan on Jan. 20 morning for processing.
On Jan. 16, the Office of the Ombudsman filed malversation and graft charges against Revilla and former engineers of the Department of Public Works and Highways linked to a P92.8 million alleged ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan.
Other co-accused include DPWH Bulacan district engineer Brice Hernandez, engineers Jaypee Mendoza, Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, and personnel Juanito Mendoza and Christina Pineda.
Arrest warrants and hold departure orders have also been issued against the former DPWH officials.
On Jan. 20, 12:40 a.m., Pineda was arrested in Barangay Bangao, Buguias, Benguet.
Revilla was named by former DPWH undersecretary Roberto Bernardo as among those who allegedly received kickbacks from flood control projects in September 2025.
The former has repeatedly denied his involvement.
This is Revilla’s second detention linked to corruption claims, more than a decade after he was tagged in the 2013 pork barrel scam case. In 2018, the Sandiganbayan acquitted him of plunder.
