Here's your chance to werk your inner diva in upcoming show 'Delia D: A Dragtastic Musical'

Calling all aspiring theater artists! The Newport World Resorts is having its casting call for its newest musical, Delia D: A Dragtastic Musical.

The highly anticipated musical is the 11th major theatrical masterpiece from Newport World Resorts’ production outfit, Full House Theater Company. It features iconic songs by the celebrated songwriter and music producer Jonathan Manalo.

How to join?

This nationwide casting call is open to all theater enthusiasts ages 17 to 50. The audition date is Sunday, October 8, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Aspirants need to bring a copy of their curriculum vitae (CV) and a 3R photo.

In addition, candidates for singing auditions must prepare 32 bars from their favorite musical that best highlights their vocal range.

Meanwhile, the dance audition portion will require learning and performing a routine on the spot.

Qualified applicants must be available from February 1 to June 30, 2025 for rehearsals and performances.

Other details, including the musical's story plot, have yet to be announced.

Earlier in June, NRW gave fans a sneak peek of the new musical at the last curtain call of Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical, where theater performer Phi Palmos gave an electrifying rendition of Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw by Manalo.

Aside from Delia D: A Dragtastic Musical, NRW is also home to some hit original Pinoy musicals, including Ang Huling El Bimbo, Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical, and Bongga Ka Day: The Musical.
