Criminal complaint filed vs 15-year-old suspect in Tacloban school shooting: police

Criminal raps have been filed against the 15-year-old student who was tagged in the Tacloban school shooting incident.

PNP Region VIII Public Information Officer PLT Col. Analiza Armeza confirmed the news in an interview with GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday, June 24. 

"We already have filed a criminal complaint against the CICL (Child in Conflict with the Law) who is above 15 years old last night with the Prosecutor's Office," she said.

Armeza added that it's now up to the Prosecutor's Office to assess the complaint.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, police said that the criminal raps include three counts of murder, three counts of frustrated murder, and multiple counts of serious physical injuries. They were filed before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Tacloban. 

The shooting incident occurred at San Jose National High School around 9 a.m. on June 22. It left three students dead and several others injured.

According to the Tacloban City Police Office, the injured victims received immediate assistance and were transported to medical facilities for treatment. Of the 20 injured, 15 remain hospitalized for firearm-related injuries, while five sustained non-firearm-related injuries.

The two minor suspects, alias Nash, 14, and alias Rod, 15, remain in police custody and are undergoing investigation with their parents present before being endorsed to the DSWD for further processing. Here's what the initial probe has shown so far.
