Disney+ is still not releasing Kim Soo-Hyun's series Knock-Off despite a positive development in his defamation case.

As reported by Korean Times, a Disney+ official told Xportsnews on Wednesday that the dark comedy drama series will remain shelved without a change in their decision.

The drama was initially slated for release on Disney+ in April 2025. However, its promotional schedule and release date were postponed after actor Soo-hyun was targeted by malicious rumors regarding his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, who passed away in February 2025 at the age of 24.

Kim Se-ui, the YouTuber behind the channel HoverLab, allegedly posted a supposed voice recording of the actresss saying she was dating Soo-hyun since middle school, along with text message screenshots from the actress's phone manipulated to defame Soo-hyun.

Soo-hyun then filed criminal complaints against Se-ui and members of Sae-ron’s family over defamation and misinformation charges.

The court eventually allowed Sei-ui's arrest, citing concerns of flight risk and destruction of evidence. Soo-hyun's agency Gold Medalist welcomed the arrest of the YouTuber.

Knock-Off tells the story of Kim Seong Jun, "an ordinary man who lost his job during the IMF crisis, who jumps into the counterfeit goods business in the late 20th century and grows into the world's counterfeit goods king in the 21st century."

The series hyped audiences for its stellar cast headlined by Kim and actress Jo Bo-Ah.
