Gen Z stars of 'Scary Movie' say upcoming film is 'one of the craziest' flicks you'll see
The Scary Movie franchise is back after 13 years!
The horror-comedy follows Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), who's now a mom of two estranged teenagers, Sara (Olivia Rose Keegan) and Tuesday (Savannah Lee Nassif). In the eternal final girl's hunt for Ghostface, her daughters are unfortunately caught in the crosshairs.
The film's Gen Z stars have described the film as one of the "craziest" audiences will watch.
"This is one of the craziest movies you’ll probably ever see in your life—expect the unexpected and get ready for some craziness," Nassif said.
“We haven’t had a big, belly-laugh comedy like this in a long time, and I’m so excited for people to see it. There are so many shocking moments you’re going to want to see it with a crowd and hear everyone’s reactions.”
Cameron Scott Roberts, who plays Sara's boyfriend Jack, added that there's no way to prepare for the surprises in the flick.
“You are going be thrust headfirst into our world. Everything is on the table—in the best possible way. It's going to keep people roaring with laughter. Marlon [Wayans], Regina [Hall], and Anna [Faris] are completely OG amazing and they made us all better."
Meanwhile, Ruby Snowber, who plays wild and promiscuous Elle, shares that the dynamic between the new and returning cast was great.
"It didn’t feel like the legacy characters and the new cast—it really all blended into one family," the young actress said.
“It’s a parody of pop culture today. There are those legacy elements, but it’s also very much rooted in what’s happening now.”
Apart from Faris, Regina Hall returns as Brenda Meeks, while Marlon Wayans reprises his role as Shorty. Several other cast members will also make their Scary Movie comeback, including Dave Sheridan, Cheri Oteri, Jon Abrahams, Chris Elliot, and Lochlyn Munro.
The upcoming film parodies trending horror titles like Scream 5, Ma, Weapons, Halloween, Wednesday, Get Out, The Substance, Longlegs, Smile, Candyman, M3GAN, Sinners, and more.
Scary Movie is now showing in cinemas.
