Dubai princess launches 'Divorce' scent after announcing split from husband on Instagram
The Dubai princess—who went viral for announcing her divorce from her husband on Instagram—has launched a new perfume dubbed "Divorce."
As stated on the official website of Princess Shaikha Mahra Mohammed Rashed Al Maktoum's brand, the scent "embodies confidence and new beginnings" and is "ideal for those who appreciate elegance and change." It costs AED 1,000 or around P15,421.
Aside from the perfume, she also launched a hair and body spray (AED 604 or P9,314) that has a "light, invigorating scent" as well as a glitter powder (AED 716 or P11,041) that gives the skin a "radiant, shine-enhanced finish."
This comes a few months after she declared her divorce from her partner on social media. “Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you,” her July 17 Instagram post read.
The princess seemingly used triple talaq, a centuries-old practice of Islamic divorce, where the man can end the marriage by pronouncing “talaq” three times. This practice has been banned in many countries, such as Bangladesh, Egypt, and Pakistan.
