‘Days of Our Lives’ actor Robert Kelker-Kelly dies at 62
Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for playing Bo Brady on the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives, has died at 62.
The actor died on Oct. 3 in Missouri, with his death confirmed by the St. Peters Police Department and the Missouri medical examiner, as per TMZ.
According to The Times, police responded to the actor's home that evening following a report of an unconscious man who was not breathing. Life-saving measures were attempted but were unsuccessful.
Page Six reported that a 911 dispatch audio described the incident as a cardiac arrest. Kyle Gaines, division chief and public information officer for the St. Charles County Ambulance District, confirmed to the publication that first responders and paramedics were dispatched for an adult male patient experiencing cardiac arrest.
The cause of his death was not disclosed.
Kelker-Kelly began his television career on Another World in 1987, where he played several characters, including Sam Fowler. He later appeared in more than 400 episodes of the soap.
He joined Days of Our Lives in 1992, taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. He played the character until 1995, appearing alongside Kristian Alfonso as Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed. His performance as Bo earned him the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994. The following year, he and Rinna won Hottest Soap Couple for their on-screen pairing.
He also joined General Hospital as Stavros Cassadine, appearing in the series from 2001 and returning for several appearances through 2014.
Outside acting, Kelker-Kelly worked as a professional pilot. He was married to actress Linda Rattner from 1988 to 1992 and later to his former Days of Our Lives co-star Miriam Parrish from 1997 until their divorce in 2013.
