Dolly Parton’s former Hollywood Hills home hits the market for $7.95 million—here's a look inside
A former home of country music icon Dolly Parton has hit the market in Los Angeles, with an asking price of $7.95 million (P501 million).
Located in the Hollywood Hills, the gated property is known as the “Dolly Parton house” and is being offered for the first time in 25 years, according to Nourmand & Associates.
Parton and her late husband, Carl Dean, purchased the home in 1985 for $750,000 (P47.3 million). They sold it in 1990 for $1.2 million (P75.6 million), according to property records.
The four-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom residence spans 4,689 square feet and sits on a 15,127-square-foot lot at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Bird Streets neighborhood near the Sunset Strip.
The home was originally built in 1977 but was rebuilt in 2009 and has since undergone additional upgrades.
The property features high ceilings, custom finishes, and built-in details throughout, along with views stretching across Los Angeles and toward the Pacific Ocean.
Its living and dining areas have walls of glass that open onto a terrace, leading to a swimming pool and spa. The outdoor space also offers room for entertaining.
The home has a library and media room with surround sound, as well as a family room and kitchen that overlook the views and open toward the pool.
The kitchen is equipped with Miele double ovens, a six-burner cooktop, a 48-inch Sub-Zero refrigerator, microwave, and wine fridge.
The expansive primary suite comes with its own coffee bar, fireplace, two bathrooms, a steam shower, office or gym space, walk-in closet, private deck, and private spa.
The other bedrooms also have private bathrooms, while the property has three fireplaces located in the living room, family room, and primary suite.
Although the house has been significantly transformed since Parton owned it, its connection to the singer remains part of its appeal.
Mansion Global reported that listing agent Edward Tinney recalled leasing the property around 2002, when it still retained some of its earlier character, including purple carpeting, pink walls, and wig stands. The home was subsequently rebuilt in 2009.
Parton was a country music singer, songwriter, actress, author, and philanthropist whose career spanned seven decades. She was known for hits including Jolene, 9 to 5, and I Will Always Love You. She died on Aug. 25 at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
