South Korean actress Kim Sa-rang has settled her overdue taxes after authorities reportedly seized her Gimpo apartment.

Citing real estate registry records, Allkpop reported the former beauty queen's property, worth approximately 366 million won (P15 million), was seized on April 6 by the NTS Samseong District Office.

An investigation by OSEN later revealed that Kim resolved the delinquent taxes on May 9, before local media belatedly reported on the matter.

The outlet said that she received her first delinquency notice in March, and her home was seized as she prepared to pay. Kim did not receive any notification about the apartment seizure, but as Korea's National Tax Collection Act notes, there's no obligation to notify individuals in advance of a seizure.

“The seizure was recorded on the registry on April 6th, but we were unaware of it," a source close to the actress told OSEN. "We received the first delinquency notice in March and were preparing to pay when the seizure occurred. Since we don’t check the registry daily, we only learned about the seizure after the media report, even after paying the taxes.”

Kim, who also owns property in Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam district, acknowledged the issue. "The tax delinquency was our mistake. We will ensure this does not happen again. We will carefully verify dates to ensure timely and sincere payments in the future."

On Instagram, the actress also seemingly assured her fans about the situation in a May 16 post.

"Have a happy weekend! Don't be shaken by the situation. Protect the happiness at your center! Today will not come again," she wrote in the caption, as translated by OSEN.

Kim is known for starring in Secret Garden with Hyun Bin, A Love to Kill with Rain, Birth of a Man, Love Impossible, Man of Men, Get Revenge, This is My Love, and more.

She also represented South Korea in Miss Universe 2001 in Puerto Rico, where she bagged the Best National Costume award.
