Jacob Elordi recalls being 'locked in a coffin for two days' with real snake while filming 'Euphoria' Season 3

Jacob Elordi had one intense experience while filming his last scene during the third and final season of Euphoria.

During his guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor was asked about the process he went through while filming the death scene of his character Nate Jacobs. To recall, the character was buried alive in a coffin after getting involved with a shady investor before being fatally bitten by a rattlesnake.

Elordi joked that series creator Sam Levinson had brought him back just to "torture" him.

"It was like, six weeks of me just getting beat by a seven-foot guy. I was just running the whole time," he said.

On his death scene, he shared, "I got locked in a coffin for two days straight with prosthetics and a fake tongue, and I couldn’t see out of my eyes. And then Sam put snakes into the coffin."

Unlike the deadlier species seen in the show, the snake that was used in production was actually just a boa constrictor. Nevertheless, Elordi said that he was "fine" with having to use a real snake.

"He had a very nice personality," Elordi said of the boa constrictor. "He was very docile and very sleepy. I don’t think he’d had a lot of sun, so I was kind of nudging him, trying to get him to get active and do the scene, because he was meant to be threatening. But he was like a little dog. He just kept curling up at my feet."

With Euphoria now behind him, Elordi shared that working on the series had "really changed his whole life."

"It’s an incredible thing. I don’t know if I’ll ever fathom the sort of size of that show and what it did for me," he highlighted.

Euphoria follows a group of high school students as they navigate love, identity, addiction, trauma, and the challenges of growing up. Apart from Elordi, it also stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, and Alexa Demie.

Since premiering in 2019, the show has become one of the most-watched shows on HBO. It ended on May 31 this year after three seasons.
