'La La Land' 10th anniversary poster corrects Ryan Gosling's hand
Ryan Gosling finally got his decade-long wish to do over his La La Land pose.
As posted in La La Land's social media pages, Lionsgate Films has released a 10th anniversary poster for the romantic drama musical in time for its re-release in theaters.
"A minor adjustment," they wrote.
In the original 2026 poster, Gosling and Emma Stone can be seen dancing against an azure Los Angeles skyline. While the two both had their arm raised, Gosling had his hand tilted flat, unlike Stone’s upwardly extended hand.
Gosling recounted the moment to Wall Street Journal in 2024 as something that haunted him for years.
“We’re dancing, Emma and I, and I didn’t know this would become the poster for the movie. We were supposed to have our hands up, and I thought it would be cool to put my hand [more flat] even though everyone told me it wasn’t cool. I was sure it was cooler,” he said.
“Now when I look at it, and I have to see it all the time, you know what would’ve been cooler,” he added. “It just killed the energy that way. I call it La La Hand.”
La La Land will be screening again in select U.S. theaters beginning Aug. 16. The film won a record-breaking seven Golden Globes and six Oscar awards, including Best Director and Best Cinematography.
The film follows aspiring pianist Seb (Gosling), who falls in love with budding actress Mia (Stone) as they both navigate life and career choices.
