KATSEYE, Doechii's 'Anxiety,' and more recognized in TikTok's top artists and songs of 2025

If you have spent at least a day of your year doomscrolling on TikTok, chances are you already know which artists and songs have dominated the platform in 2025.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, TikTok revealed the top artists and music that defined the platform in 2025. Global girl group KATSEYE was hailed as the TikTok Global Artist of the Year, noting how they racked up over 30 billion views and 12 million creations using their music on TikTok this year, including Gnarly and Gabriela

The girl group, which has 15 million TikTok followers as of writing, also went viral on the platform with their choreography using Kelis' Milkshake in their collaboration with Gap, earning 151 million views.

Meanwhile, Pretty Little Baby by the late Connie Francis also gained a fresh wave of fans after getting viral on the platform, six decades after its original release in 1962.

According to TikTok, the song was used 28.4 million times for wholesome content, making it the top song globally and in the US this 2025. It became the legendary artist's most-streamed song, gathering more than 130 million streams on Spotify and landing on the Billboard Global 200 chart for five weeks.

The huge success of the song prompted her to join the platform this year. "I'm flabbergasted and excited about the huge buzz my 1962 recording of Pretty Little Baby is making all over the world. To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is captivating new generations of audiences is truly overwhelming for me. Thank you TikTok," she said in her first TikTok post.

On the other hand, Taylor Swift was hailed as the Global Most-Saved Artist (using Add to Music App feature on TikTok) after the release of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. sombr's back to friends was named Global Most-Saved Track, which was used in over 7.7 million and 21.7 billion video views, whileTate McRae's So Close To What was named the Global Most Saved Album.

This year's Music Trend of the Year was Anxiety by Doechii, which prompted 10.4 million creations and 51.6 billion views. ICYDK, it was originally uploaded as a demo in 2019, featuring a sample of Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye. After it was rediscovered in 2025, Doechii re-recorded it in June, making a huge global dance trend and several nominations at the Grammys.

Ejae, who rose to fame after serving as the singing voice of Rumi in the hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters, was hailed as TikTok's Songwriter of the Year. She has worked with several K-pop groups, including TWICE, aespa, Fifty Fifty, LE SSERAFIM, and Red Velvet for the song Psycho.
