HUAWEI nova 13 series with AI selfie features is now up for pre-order
HUAWEI has unveiled its newest midrange smartphone line, the nova 13 series, which comes with handy AI portrait features to take selfies to the next level.
The lineup consists of three devices: the base model Huawei nova 13, the nova 13 Pro, and the budget nova 13i. These phones are a good option for those looking for a trendy gadget that can take nice photos for social media.
Specs and AI features
The nova 13 and 13 Pro don a stylish, eye-catching rear. The Loden green model of the range—and the white version of the vanilla model—feature a plaid design that makes it stand out from other smartphones. Those who want a more sophisticated look can opt for the classic sleek black iteration.
On the other hand, the most affordable in the lineup, the nova 13i, comes in a muted design in either blue or white.
Specs-wise, the nova 13 is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It also has a 5,000mAh battery with 100W Huawei SuperCharge Turbo so it reaches a 50% charge in just 9 minutes, according to the tech company.
The Pro version of the phone gets a slightly bigger 6.76-inch display and a better camera array.
Both phones have a 60MP ultrawide front camera capable of taking selfies in even low-light conditions. It's even capable of 5x zoom so you can take more detailed shots of your everyday looks or fit in more people for a groupfie.
On the pro, there's a 50MP adjustable aperture lens, a 12MP telephoto shooter, and an 8MP ultra-wide macro camera for taking better portraits with creamier bokeh. These lenses work together with the XD Portrait Engine to refine photos and add shape, texture, and glow without any filters.
AI Best Expression
Taking the perfect group photo is tricky, let's admit it. Not everybody is ready for the shot—some have their eyes closed, and others aren't smiling yet. HUAWEI has a solution for this type of photography dilemma: AI Best Expression.
What this feature does is select the best expression from many group photos so people can look their best in the image.
The Huawei nova 13 series is available for pre-order until Jan. 30 on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, Huawei Online Store, and Huawei Experience Stores. The price, configuration, and freebies are as follows:

HUAWEI Mate X6, audio wearables
The Chinese tech company also brought the flagship foldable HUAWEI Mate X6 and a slate of wearables including the Freebuds Pro 4, FreeBuds SE 3, and FreeClip to the Philippines.
The foldable phone features a 7.93-inch OLED display unfurled and a 6.45-inch exterior screen. Huawei boasts that it's 60% tougher than the previous Mate X3 as it now is fitted with a 2nd Generation KUNLUN Glass for greater drop resistance.
Its camera setup features a 50MP "ultra aperture" lens, 48MP telephoto micro, and 40MP ultrawide shooter. These lenses promise detailed shots in low-light environments and with fast-moving subjects.
The Huawei Mate X6 is available for P114,999 with a free DJI Neo Drone gift, Huawei Watch GT 4 41mm, and a one-year one-time screen protection. Pre-orders are available via Lazada, Shopee, and Huawei's website.
