Ricardo Cepeda’s daughter, Sachi Go, said she’s “overjoyed” about her father's prison release, which came 11 months after his arrest.

Sachi recently took to her Facebook account to share her sentiments after Marina Benipayo, Ricardo’s partner, announced that he is finally out on bail.

“About a year ago, my father was taken to jail for a crime he didn't commit. This felt like an affront to justice, made personal. How could evil men roam free and innocent men have their lives overturned just like that?” she began.

Sachi opened up about how her father’s arrest affected her and her family as she commended Ricardo for staying resilient even amid unfortunate circumstances.

“It would've been easy to fall into a pit of bitterness and despair. Admittedly, there were times when I felt the jadedness grow inside me. No good deed goes unpunished, I'd think to myself,” she continued.

“That said, dad remained strong, positive, and resilient through this whole ordeal. We knew he was facing the hardest challenge. We knew if anyone was struggling, it would be him. But not once did he let up,” Sachi noted.

She went on to take pride in how her father’s “patience, kindness, and honesty” shone the most during his experience.

“The light kept shining through when the situation would have so easily dimmed it,” she wrote.

Following his release, Sachi noted it was “tempting” to cry foul over why justice took months, but she decided to take inspiration from her father’s resilience.

“From his example, this last year has changed me for the better. Small problems are just that, and they always pass. Suffering is never an excuse to become a horrible person to other people. And even when the world flings the worst of its judgment and lies your way, the only thing that matters is the truth—and those who matter most will know it,” she wrote.

She continued, “Today, we celebrate not out of surprise or wonder. We always knew. It was just a matter of time for the world to catch up. Forget ideas of posts of defiance. This is a post of honor and relief.”

“May you all be so lucky to know someone like Richard Cepeda Go,” Sachi added. “Happy and excited to see you soon, fasha! And glad the whole family is gonna be complete again.”

Sachi also expressed her gratitude to Marina. “[T]hank YOU! The year wouldn't have been the same without all your help,” she wrote.

Cepeda, whose real name is Richard Cesar Go, was released from the Cagayan Provincial Jail earlier this week after posting bail. He was arrested at a resto bar in Caloocan City last year for syndicated estafa due to an investment scheme of a sales company he was endorsing. He denied the allegations and stressed he was only a model of the firm involved in the complaint.
