Little Miss Saldo's: This Silang restaurant is serving all-day breakfast inspired by global flavors
There’s something about quiet mornings and a hearty breakfast that instantly feels like being on vacation. Surrounded by lush greenery in Silang, Cavite, Little Miss Saldo’s offers exactly that kind of escape as it highlights its all-day breakfast menu, available until the end of March.
The casual dining restaurant by Chef Rhea Rizzo is turning what’s usually a morning ritual into an anytime indulgence—perfect for those who believe breakfast should never be rushed or restricted by the clock.
“I love the idea that breakfast doesn’t have to be limited to the morning,” Chef Rhea shared. “It can be comforting, nourishing, and enjoyed at any time of the day.”
She adds that the concept is also rooted in her own kitchen life. “I used to eat bulalo or something heavy for breakfast, knowing that once service started, the day would fly by and I’d forget to eat. That was my fuel.”
Breakfast memories from around the world
The concept behind Little Miss Saldo’s was born from the chef’s desire to bring her own flavorful memories to the table.
“I realized that my mixed experiences—being classically trained in French cuisine, living in California, Ubud, and Bangkok, and taking cooking classes across different countries—aren’t something to narrow down or apologize for,” she told PhilSTAR Life. “They’re what make the food, and me, unique.”
Many items on the menu are iterations of dishes that the chef has tried and stayed with her long after a trip ended.
The restaurant’s pancakes, for instance, were inspired by the beloved macadamia nut pancakes at Boots & Kimo’s in Kailua, Hawaii. Meanwhile, the Honey Butter Toast traces its roots to a tiny breakfast café in Tokyo known for its French toast.
“Sometimes it’s not just about the food,” Chef Rhea added. “It’s the quiet joy of sitting in a corner, watching a city begin its day. I love recreating those moments at home and sharing them here.”
Plates you shouldn’t miss
First-time diners often gravitate toward the Wagyu steak tapa and eggs—a flavorful plate of garlic soy-marinated flank steak paired with sinamak vinegar, sunny-side-up eggs, and garlic rice.
Another chef recommendation is the Salmon Aburi, which comes with edamame, ikura, sushi rice, sous vide egg, nori tempura, and teriyaki sauce.
For something indulgent and comforting, the Monte Cristo ham and cheese sandwich remains a crowd favorite.
These plates are a reminder that breakfast doesn’t need a clock, especially with Little Miss Saldo’s all-day menu available until the end of March.
