Ever tried hopia latte? Discover Mabuhay Craft Coffee's Lunar New Year drinks
Ever imagined your favorite food translated into a drink? As the Lunar New Year approaches, Mabuhay Craft Coffee in San Juan City is doing exactly that, serving up a lineup of drinks that celebrate Filipino-Chinese culinary traditions.
Their Mabu-Hei Fat Choi Collection combines nostalgic flavors from classic treats with Mabuhay’s signature espresso, creating drinks that are both heartwarming and playful.
For founder Chef Kel Zaguirre, the inspiration behind this year’s collection comes from cherished family traditions.
"Around this time each year, just after Christmas, my mom would always buy Chinese or Filipino-Chinese treats from Binondo for our family to enjoy, especially stocking up on tikoy for the Chinese New Year," Zaguirre told PhilSTAR L!fe. "These traditions inspired me to create recipes that highlight the food I loved growing up. Staying true to Mabuhay’s goal, this series aims to give life to Filipino traditions, nostalgia, and customs."
