This content creator shares what it’s like to live across the Cecil Hotel or ‘Hotel Death’
Ever wondered what it's like to live in the same area where the much-talked about Cecil Hotel, or what they call "Hotel Death,” is? Singer and content creator Peet Montzingo shared it all on TikTok and YouTube.
"I really wanted to talk about some of my stories and things that I've seen living across the street the whole time I've been living here," the singer said on his latest vlog.
The hotel he's talking about is Stay on Main, or more popularly known as the Cecil Hotel, which is located in Downtown LA, California. It has become known for crime, mysterious deaths, and spooky encounters. It is the same establishment where college student Elisa Lam checked in and was later found dead, and also where serial killer Richard Ramirez spent some nights.
The place is so haunted that the hotel's former manager, Amy Price, claimed in the latest Netflix docuseries, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, that she saw over 80 deaths in her 10 years in the hotel.

Currently, the hotel is now closed and the entrance is barricaded. However, Montzingo, who just recently moved to DTLA, have had some scary encounters from across the building.
“At night I always take a look just to make sure I don't see anything. But there have been times I have,” he said in one of his Instagram stories.
Montzingo shared on his vlog that he has experienced sightings, has seen strange shadows, fans that turn on, lights that turn on and turn off the following day, windows opening, fire alarms going off, and so on.
“Different rooms are slightly different from day to day, and there is nobody going in or out of the hotel,” he said.

At one point, he almost called 911 because a girl seemed like she was trying to jump off the window. But as it turns out, it was just an actress for Ghost Adventures.
He also shared that he experienced something weird in his own apartment wherein his water bottle, which as just placed by his television, suddenly flew to the other side of the room. “I immediately looked at the Cecil hotel I was like, ‘*gasp!* The Cecil!’”
There was also one time when Montizngo called his friend to tell that the hotel’s fire alarm went off, his alarm suddenly went off. “My fire alarm and just my unit went off.”
“I'm always really scared even talk about the Cecil hotel because I feel like the ghosts are listening,” he admitted.
But why did he move near the area if it's that spooky? Well, it's because Downtown LA is a place for artists and creatives, and according to Montzingo, “it’s like a mini New York,” he told The Tab. “People move here for the nightlife and the creative community.”
“I really wanted to surround myself with that,” he added.
