No man will ever silence a woman—Catriona Gray herself made sure she conveys this message as she gets dragged into the red-tagging issue Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Southern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr has earlier spawned.
Gray won't let threats impact her advocacy and beliefs, even after the army man warned her about her ties with Gabriela, the former Miss Universe's legal adviser Joji Alonso said.
In a statement, Atty. Alonso wrote: "Dragging Catriona's name when all she has endeavored to do is advocate for women's rights is completely uncalled for."
"Catriona will not waiver in continuously championing social causes that uplift women's lives," she added.
Alonso also relayed Gray's call against censorship on women in general.
"And while there may be people who will try, she remains steadfast in her stance that no one should be silenced in sharing their personal stories to give strength and support to fellow women who have gone through similar experiences," she said.
"Catriona expresses her gratitude to all those who share the same stand on gender equality and who aim to protect those who are brave enough to speak out on their platforms."
Catriona will not waiver in continuously championing social causes that uplift women's lives.
Aside from Gray, Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin's sister Ella Colmenares were accused of supporting the NPA through the ladies' ties with Gabriela.
"The choice is yours, Liza. And so with you, Catriona. Don't follow the path Ka Ella Colmenares (Locsin) took in the underground and NPA Quezon. I am sure Angel Locsin and Neri Colmenares will not tell you this," Parlade said in a Facebook post last October 21, addressing Soberano.

In the words of Amy Goodman: Go to where there is silence and say something. It is wrong and unfair to tar Catriona’s name with the broad brush of red tagging. To crudely brand this message in the hopes of causing further divisiveness is a disservice to all Filipinos. #NoToRedTagging #Respect
