Tributes from showbiz and non-showbiz personalities over how Ricky Lo touched their lives lit up social media today following the death of the highly regarded entertainment journalist last night.

Apart from showcasing his brilliance as the entertainment editor and columnist of The Philippine Star, he also co-hosted talk shows on GMA-7 (Startalk) and ABS-CBN (The Buzz)—all of which made him a highly esteemed journalist in the showbiz industry.

Here’s how some of the entertainment veteran's good friends and colleagues reacted to his passing:

“You either feared or loved him—depending on how you ended up on his powerful column,” journalist Karen Davila wrote on Twitter, describing him as a “tough act to follow.”

Journalist Teddy Boy Locsin called him “a media icon, deservedly so; an immortal in his genre.”

For former senator JV Ejercito, he was “one of the nicest persons I have met in the showbiz world.”

Singer Jayda Avanzado expressed her love and appreciation for his beloved ninong on Twitter.

Actor and politician Alfred Vargas also thanked the entertainment journalist for “the genuine friendship and support throughout the years.”

For his part, actor Richard Yap shared a newspaper article recently published by the veteran columnist about him. “Another good soul gone too soon,” he captioned his Instagram post.
