ABS-CBN artist Liza Soberano filed a criminal complaint against a basher on Thursday, September 24, following the latter’s rape comment made about the actress recently.

It started when Liza made a series of tweets about the connectivity issues she has experienced with her previous internet provider Converge.

Tech giant PLDT was quick to give a solution to her problem with a 300 MBPS internet speed two days later.

“What a lifesaver. Lag? I don’t know her,” she wrote on Twitter.

The issue caused different reactions from netizens, with others saying they didn’t like how the actress addressed the issue. Upon looking through her Twitter replies, she found out that an alleged Converge employee made a rape remark about her.  Wala tayong magagawa, wala ng trabaho, kaya di bale ng masira ang image, magkapera lang. Sarap ipa-rape sa mga…. ewan!” the post read.

The actress replied to a netizen who then urged her to take action on the matter, saying, “Don’t worry. We won’t let this one pass.” On Thursday, September 24, she was spotted filing a criminal rap against the netizen along with her manager Ogie Diaz and legal counsel Atty. Jun Lim.

In an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, Liza said, “I was really upset because the fact that it’s a rape joke, it’s not something that should be taken lightly, and the fact that she’s a woman, I would never in a million years do a joke like that.” She continued, “I know that everybody is entitled to their own opinion, that is true, but at some point you have to be respectful of others online. I want people to learn that there are consequences to everything like rape jokes because that is not a light matter.”
