Korean boy band EXO has undeniably one of the most loyal fan bases in the K-pop realm, and sometimes their love for the nine-member group even extends to communities in need!

Fans of EXO’s KAI held a gift-giving project in honor of the world-class performer’s 28th birthday this year.

The project, dubbed "Adopt A KAIGom," was organized by Station Kai, Station Kai CARE, and KaiGoms PH with Mbrace Project to gift stuffed bears to young patients at the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon City.

The name “KAIGom” is a combination of the K-pop idol’s name and the word gom’or bear in Korean, which is Kai’s emblem as a member of EXO and is also often used to refer to his solo stans.

The teddy bears that the local fan base gifted were “adopted” or purchased by fellow fans from all over the world and is an ongoing effort by Station Kai CARE to bring joy to those in need on behalf of their favorite K-idol.

18 days ahead of his birthday, fans celebrated the Peaches singer’s birthday on Dec. 27 while strictly observing the hospital’s health and safety protocols. Station KAI posted about the gift-giving on Twitter with a video of the kids greeting Kai a happy birthday.

On Jan. 14, EXO-Ls and Erigoms also trended the hashtags #AllRounderKAIDay, #HappyKaiDay, Kim Kai, Happy Birthday Kai, and Jongin (KAI’s real first name) in the Philippines for EXO Kai. Happy birthday, Kai!

KAI’s newest mini-album Peaches is available on all music-streaming platforms.
