New video game releases for November 2020

Get your wallets ready! November looks like it's going to be a busy month for gamers. A number of triple-A titles are expected to be released on various platforms, while the highly-anticipated Sony PlayStation 5 will hit store shelves this month.

Here's a quick roundup of the hottest video game titles expected to drop this month. 

Assassin's Creed Valhalla 

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia

The latest action role-playing video game in the long-running Assassin's Creed franchise is set in the Norse Age and recounts a fictional story of the Viking invasion of Britain.

Players get to control Eivor, a Viking raider who becomes embroiled in the conflict between the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. In a unique twist, players can choose between playing Eivor as either a male or female protagonist. Assasin's Creed Valhalla is set to be released on Nov. 10.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light 

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

This upcoming major expansion for Destiny 2, a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie, will take players to Jupiter's icy moon Europa to confront the Darkness, which will become a new power for the player.

With a new planet, a new subclass, a new story arc, and other, vast new changes, Beyond Light heralds the beginning of a new era for the Destiny franchise. The game is scheduled to be released on Nov. 10.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales 

Platforms: PS4, PS5

Based on the Marvel Comics superhero Miles Morales, this action-adventure game is the second in the Marvel's Spider-Man series, following Marvel's Spider-Man (2018).

Swing into action as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and enjoy an arsenal of new powers and gear starting Nov. 12.

Demon's Souls Remake

Platform: PS5

This upcoming action role-playing game is a remake of Demon's Souls, originally released for the PlayStation 3 in 2009. The cult classic has been completely remade with stunning graphics and audio powered by the PS5's new capabilities.

The game is scheduled to be released as a launch title for the PS5 on Nov. 12.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

This first-person shooter video game is the sixth installment of the Black Ops series, and the seventeenth installment in the overall Call of Duty series.

Set during the early 1980s of the Cold War, the campaign follows CIA officer Russell Adler as he pursues an alleged Soviet spy.

The multiplayer will have new game modes, more extensive customization, and new map dynamics and elements. The game is planned for release on Nov. 13.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Platform: Nintendo Switch

This hack-and-slash game is a sequel to Hyrule Warriors (2014), a crossover between Koei's Dynasty Warriors series and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series.

The story is set 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017) allowing players to experience the events of the Great Calamity. The game is set to be released on Nov. 20.

Dirt 5

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X

Dirt 5 is an upcoming racing video game that promises next-gen off-road racing. Disciplines within the game include rallycross, ice racing, Stadium Super Trucks and off-road buggies.

It's the fourteenth game in the Colin McRae Rally series. The game is set to be released throughout November on various platforms.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure 

Platforms: PS4, PS5

Part of the popular puzzle platformer LittleBigPlanet series, this upcoming game follows Sackboy, and features 3D platforming as opposed to 2.5D in previous entries.

Sackboy is set for release on Nov. 12.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody Of Memories 

Platforms: PS4, Switch, Xbox One

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memories is a rhythm action game in the Kingdom Hearts series featuring 20 playable characters with four main party groupings.

These include Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy (the "Classic" party); Roxas, Axel, and Xion (the "Days" party); Riku and two Dream Eaters (the "DDD" party); and Terra, Aqua, and Ventus (the "BBS" party).

 

Playable Disney characters include Hercules, Aladdin, Mulan, Beast, Ariel, Simba, and Peter Pan. The game is expected to be released worldwide in November 2020.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Platforms: PC, Mac

Shadowlands is the eighth expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Battle for Azeroth.

After some delays, the game is expected to be released on Nov. 23, the 16th anniversary of the original game’s release.
