BTS can’t stop breaking their own records—and ARMYs are here for it

By SAAB LARIOSA Published May 21, 2021 3:58 pm

Proving that the only thing that can beat BTS is, well, BTS, the K-pop group has officially surpassed 2020's Dynamite YouTube record with the recent release of Butter.

Dubbing Butter as a "dance-pop track brimming with the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS," their second English-language song sees RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook in a colorful bop perfect for rolling with the good times this summer.  As of this writing, Butter has garnered 35 million views—4 million since its 12 p.m. debut, Philippine time.

Though it'll take a while before chart records arrive, the YouTube records are clear on where the group stands, as Butter has officially dethroned their last summer hit, Dynamite, as the fastest video premiere to reach 10 million views in just 54 minutes.

Before Dynamite, the YouTube record was previously held by fellow K-pop standout BLACKPINK with their 2020 hit How You Like That.

BTS fans (dubbed as ARMY) are evidently ecstatic over the new record-breaking video, as the hashtags #BTS_Butter and #SmoothLikeButter have been a social media trending topic since the video's release. Check out some of the hilarious tweets that stans have sent out:
