4-year-old accidentally buys $2,619 worth of popsicles online. Internet pays back mom’s ice cream debt

A  4-year-old boy named Noah Ruiz just fulfilled every little kid's dream: securing 918 popsicle sticks for himself. The whopping $2,619 (P125,500) worth of purchase—numerous boxes of SpongeBob-shaped popsicles—delivered to his aunt.

As much as it’s any kid's fantasy to hoard 918 popsicles, his mother Jennifer Bryant simply couldn’t afford the delivery and Amazon could no longer take the items back. The NYU student and social worker went on to share Noah's tale on social media where it was seen by her classmate Katie Schloss.

“Meet 4 year old Noah Ruiz from Brooklyn, NY. Noah loves SpongeBob soooo much that he managed to purchase $2618.85 worth of SpongeBob popsicles from Amazon & had it sent to his Auntie house," Jennifer had shared. "That equals to 51 cases, 918 popsicles”

Schloss was taken by Noah's antics and set up a GoFundMe account to pay for the mother and son's ice cream debt.

The fundraising campaign aptly named "Noah Bought $2,619 Worth of SpongeBob Popsicles" ultimately met its goal on May 4, with donations continuing to rack up to this day.

"As a parent to a child living with ASD (austim spectrum disorder), all additional donations will go towards Noah's education and additional supports," Jennifer said in a GoFundMe update. "We cannot thank you enough. Truly."

As of writing, the campaign has totaled over $10,660 or P510,800. Taking the math into consideration, Noah can now purchase almost 4,000 more SpongeBob popsicle sticks—unless his mother has anything to say about it.
