New images from Marvel's 'Black Widow' feature Natasha, Red Guardian, Taskmaster & more
A new batch of images have been released online from Marvel’s Black Widow, including some never before seen stills of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), Iron Maiden (Rachel Weisz), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Mason (O-T Fagbenle), and Taskmaster.
Marvel’s long-delayed Phase Four blockbuster film is still on track for a theatrical release this summer. The highly-awaited superhero film which was supposed to kick off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) faced multiple delays last year due to the pandemic and is currently expected to premiere on May 7, 2021.
In Marvel's Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
While the film has been consistently characterized as a theatrical exclusive, Marvel fans are still hoping that the film will also get a Disney Plus Premiere Access release.
The new images first posted on Twitter on Monday (Mar. 15) feature the Russian family and some behind-the-scenes looks from the film's production.

As reported by CNET, Disney CEO Bob Chapek hinted Wednesday (Mar. 17) that Marvel's Black Widow could possibly be released online on Disney Plus the same time it hits theaters.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Chapek said that a TV release could be a last-minute decision and that Disney would "remain flexible" about the release date and its exclusivity in theaters.
"We'll make the call... probably at the last minute, in terms of how these films come to market, whether it's Black Widow or any other title. We've had unbelievable success in theaters, so we think it's important to build our franchises—but at the same time, we don't think it's the only way to do it," said Chapek.
Marvel's Black Widow is currently slated to open only in cinemas on May 7, 2021.
