Miss International 2022 pageant to push through in Japan this December

Hannah Arnold is set to represent the Philippines in the Miss International 2022 pageant in Japan  

The International Culture Association (ICA) has announced the return of the 60th Miss International pageant in December 2022 after a two-year hiatus. 

“Miss International 2022 will be held this December in Japan,” organizers of the Japanese-based international pageant said. 

Organizers of the pageant said the candidates will be “taking part in various activities that promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals” to spread awareness in their respective countries. 

Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold will be representing the Philippines in the competition. She previously opened up about wanting to “pursue the goal of cheering women” when the 2021 edition of the Japan-based pageant was canceled.

Arnold took to Instagram to express her gratefulness to represent the Philippines in Miss International.

“Thank you Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., for this blessing to continue my dream journey. This is such exciting news that my MI sisters and I have been praying for and messaging a lot about,” Arnold added.

Arnold shared that she’ll use the “extra time to spread more awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Goals” which aims to end “poverty, inequality, and climate change.” 

“Tuloy ang laban, see you in Japan in December,” Arnold said.

Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand is the current Miss International titleholder. She was crowned in Tokyo, Japan in October 2019. 

Six Filipinas have been crowned Miss International namely, Kylie Versoza (2016), Bea Santiago (2013), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970), and Gemma Cruz-Araneta (1964).
