Discussions on Han So Hee, Ryu Jun Yeol's 'Delusion' appearance discontinued after breakup
Han Soo Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol will no longer be cast in the upcoming Korean mystery-thriller film Delusion.
This comes after their breakup last March, which was confirmed two weeks after making their relationship public.
According to a report by Korean entertainment media outlet Soompi, a source from production company SHOWBOX said the talks about their participation in the project have been discontinued. The production of the film, however, "will proceed as is."
Ryu Jun Yeol's agency, C-JeS Studios, also confirmed the news in a statement.
"It is true that the production company requested that we discontinue the discussions. As we should not cause any damage to the project, we felt responsible for this incident and agreed to suspend the review," the management said.
The two Korean stars received casting proposals for the film early this month.
They made their relationship public on March 16. It was, however, faced with backlash, with social media users alleging that it overlapped with Ryu Jun Yeol's previous romance with actress Hyeri, whom he dated for seven years.
The My Name star then denied the allegations, asking the public not to use the term "transit love"—which in South Korean culture is when a person moves on quickly with a new partner—to describe their romance.
On March 30, the two actor's agencies confirmed they had called it quits. "It is true that Jun Yeol broke up with Han So Hee," C-JeS Studio said. "Please understand that we have no other position than to acknowledge the breakup."
So Hee's agency, 9ato Entertainment, also confirmed their split, saying that the two decided to prioritize their career as actors.
