‘Black Panther’ actor Chadwick Boseman dies at 43

‘Black Panther’ actor Chadwick Boseman passed away at the age of 43 after a fight with colon cancer, according to Associated Press.

According to his official Instagram account, Chadwick was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2016 and battled with it in the last 4 years as it progressed to stage 4.

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.,” the caption read. “The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.⁣”

The post added that Chadwick passed away in his home with his wife and family by his side. 

Before he was cast as a Marvel Studios superhero, Boseman gained prominence with his portrayals of Black American icons Jackie Robinson (in 2013’s 42) and James Brown (in 2014’s Get on Up). He played the role of T'Challa, king of the African nation of Wakanda in the films Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
