At ReCraft, there are no strict rules or expectations. Just good times and great company. Nestled in an unassuming black house in Quezon City, the neighborhood bar is proof that there can be good places for a late-night debauch outside the ever-bustling Makati and BGC. It’s where you can make the most of the promise the night offers with its easy-going vibe, dimly lit space, cozy seating against undone walls with wooden touches, and chill music.
But it’s not just ReCraft’s fine atmosphere that gives it warmth and personality—it's also the incredible service from the staff who take their creations so seriously that their names are etched in steel at the bar. Beverage director Cedric Mendoza, who previously helmed Singapore’s Manhattan Bar to the top of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, oversees a menu that is constantly evolving, ensuring there’s always something new to discover. One mainstay is Lolita’s Dream made with dry gin, white wine, lime, and cardamom served with a tarragon lollipop, yielding an herbal, fruity, citrusy taste. But imagine that entire thing turned into a popsicle, only to be dunked in dry martini to make another strong and silky offering called Dolores Haze? Just as good is New Manila, which has whisky, curry vermouth, pandan, calamansi, bitters, and ginger beer. It’s ReCraft's love letter to its old location that closed in January 2024. Surely, though, the drink spot has lost none of its impeccable charm since it reopened in Scout Tobias in August of the same year.
